At Cadia you will play a part in the expansion of our Tier 1 operation developing Cadia into one of the largest, safest, most cost effective and technologically advanced block caving mines in the world. Currently we are undertaking stage three of Cadia's mine life strategy by further developing our underground mine to include its 3 rd panel, as well as increasing our ore handling and processing capability.

Operations near and far

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area's occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Employees have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector with a modern well-equipped regional hospital, excellent educational facilities, shopping, large selection of sport and recreation options, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we're looking for

Reporting into the Manager- Maintenance, the primary responsibility of this role is to lead and develop the Fixed Plant Maintenance department to identify and implement strategies that provide safe, appropriate, professional and cost-effective maintenance to ensure all Ore Processing business outcomes are achieved.

A few of your key accountabilities will include;

• Managing the Ore Processing Fixed Plant Maintenance and associated site surface infrastructure
• Actively manage the performance of direct reports to ensure all accountabilities, including plan related targets are met
• Developing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance strategy
• Ensuring suitable resources are available to maintain an effective maintenance plan
• Maintaining and driving an enduring business improvement culture
• Providing leadership and mentoring to your teams.

To succeed in this position you will have a strong demonstrated track record of working in a similar position within Mining. A relevant trade or tertiary qualification will be highly regarded.

You will also have;

• Demonstrated success (7 - 10 years) in leading a production-orientated group of maintenance personnel.
• Significant experience in a supervisory role in a mine maintenance environment, including crushers, conveyors, screens, mills, pumps, flotation and gravity concentration equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).

You'll be structured and well organised with exceptional time management skills and your stakeholder management and interpersonal skills will be impeccable. You'll have the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) upwards (to GM/COO) and to Operational levels. Just as important you will also display resilience and be confident to make decisions under uncertain conditions.
