A company specifically focused on APAC for developing their mining portfolio is currently looking for a self-motivated and mature Regional Exploration & Evaluation Director to engage with project and tenement owners across the region for appraisals and JV possibilities. 
 

 

This role will require 30-40% travel and will need an APAC expert that understands the mining codes within the region. 

 

The key characteristics for this Regional Exploration & Evaluation Director opportunity include: 

 

  • Geologist, with +15 years experience
  • Predominantly experienced in the APAC region
  • Management of mineral resource & GC models making sure they are optimally estimated, according to required international codes.
  • Identify and drive external business development opportunities, especially those with top-tier potential.
  • Management of existing joint ventures and corporate interactions as well.
  • Experience in leadership roles for at least 5 Years
  • Business Development and accountability for the evaluation of deposits and assets that could be worthwhile additions to the portfolio
  • Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Reporting with full mine to mill reconciliations where required
  • Corporate governance and SOX compliance
  • Mineral resources and reconciliation sign off
  • Provide key technical analysis and due diligence to identify opportunities that align with the organisations corporate strategy.
  • Evaluate the geological prospective of potential acquisition targets, with a major focus on top tier deposits 
  • Participating in Technical Management Committees set up to direct and monitor activities across joint ventures or partnership agreements.
  • Act as the conduit to Management across projects operated by Partners, including significant developments.
  • Representative for safety, ISO 14001
  • To provide technical support for the effective identification, delineation, estimation, extraction and reporting of the available mineral resources.
  • Discipline governance, ensuring systems and procedures employed in measuring and maintaining the available resources are benchmarked.
  • Translation of technical information and strategic intent into strategic business plans/proposals,
  • Reporting of Performance
  • Prior business development, asset evaluation or M&A experience, including high levels of financial proficiency will be strongly preferred.
  • Exploration experience
  • Software experience including Leapfrog and Minesight 
  • Evaluations and financial modelling
  • Discipline excellence (people, processes and tools) Operational and effective risk management program
  • Liaison with other elements of value chain
  • Gold experience within complex orebodies
  • Preferably Corporate Development involvement and technical evaluations
