A company with a long history in the mining & minerals sectors is currently looking to hire an up-and-coming Senior Mining Engineer / Mining Superintendent with around 10 years’ experience (give or take) for a residential role in USA.

 

This role will be based in a headquartered environment allowing you to be home each night.

 

As mentioned above, this role will involve relocating to or within USA for the family to a small township. USA green cards, residents and citizens are a must for this role due to the COVID restrictions.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support technical reviews, cost forecasting, resource allocation, life of mine/monthly/weekly progress tracking and reporting
  • Maintain an active register for mine planning risks and opportunities across the business
  • Participate and contribute to safe practice and environmental awareness
  • Assist with the development of systems, processes and practices
  • Lead or participate in projects including AFE completion and approval, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, budget development and tracking, and project reporting and tracking
  • Advise on underground mine design, including drill and blast, sequence and scheduling and operational optimisations
  • Review current mining operations and investigate other methods to improve efficiency in mine operations.
  • Ensure conduct which is consistent with the company’s values, policies, systems, procedures and statutory requirements
  • Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end users’ requirements
  • Supervise, mentor and train engineering graduates to become an asset within the business
  • Identify productivity and cost reduction opportunities
  • Participate in the development of the department annual budget activities and tracking progress 

 

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering
  • 2 or more years recent experience within underground mines
  • 5 years experience in Mine Design, Scheduling and Drill and Blast
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Mine Planning software experience essential
  • Experience with capital project management
  • Strong understanding of Mineral Economic Analysis
