Requirements

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and responsibilities:

• Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical/Geological/Civil Engineering
• Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles, at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and experience with other Geotechnical programs such as Slide, Dips, AutoCAD and MineSight would be advantageous
• Collaborate with Engineering team with geotechnical monitoring programs in an open pit mine environment, relating to slope design and analysis, site investigations and Geotechnical field tours in an effort to minimize safety and business risk and strive for continuous improvement
• Support Geotechnical monitoring and analysis including drilling data centralization, instrumentation maintenance, and document tracking and control
• Opportunity to gain experience with tailings management system compliance, assisting with ensuring safe operations and surveillance of ongoing construction projects of tailings facilities and water impoundment dams
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
• Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day

All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.
