Purpose

To control capital expenditures and improve fixed asset management, in addition to implement capital investment revisions with management to ensure capital investment cost control and schedule.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges

· Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.

• Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the process plant control room.

· Assist with preparation of annual capital budgets and strategic business plan.

· Support with the preparation of rolling forecasts.

· Collaborate with the maintenance of the Fixed Asset register: Create, transfer, update and disposal of assets.

· Assist with set up, follow up and closure of capital expenditure projects (JDE Jobs Cost Codes).

· Maintains accounting controls to ensure support documentations for JDE Jobs Cost Codes.

· Prepares asset and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

· Assist with calculating/posting and analyzing monthly depreciation expense.

· Prepares Balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.

· Contribute with the Preparation of monthly / quarterly and annually management reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

· Participate and assist with Monthly review of costs with department managers.

· Support with Feasibility studies, optimizations of financial reports.

· Work with financial management to facilitate the successful and timely completion of various audits throughout the year related to fixed assets.

· Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.

· Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."

· Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

· Education

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance

· CPA or equivalent

· Advanced Excel Knowledge

· JDE Advantageous

Working Conditions

Cobre Panama is a remote site and the position is offered between mine site and Panama CIty.
