Downer has been awarded a 10 year contract to support the 3 Water Maintenance with Tauranga City and Wester Bay District Council.

Exciting opportunity for experienced Waste Water (Drainage) Service Person to join our Water Team

The Waste Water (Drainage) Service Person is responsible for undertaking routine and emergency maintenance actions on Storm water and Wastewater assets under the direction of the Drainage Supervisor.

Key tasks:

• Maintenance of wastewater and storm water services,
• Dig up and repairs of assets
• Repair and lay Storm Water and Waste Water lines
• Sewer overflow response
• Storm water flooding emergencies
• Asset inspection works
• Participate in an on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Minimum full Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence essential with current Class 2 preferred.
• Drain layer or Certificate 4 in Pipeline Construction
• Traffic management skills TC and or STMS trained would be an advantage
• Current confined space entry trained would be an advantage
• Strong focus on Health and Safety

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience in maintenance of stormwater- and waste water assets, or road maintenance and drain/pipe laying.
