Description

Provide in-depth support for ESG/Sustainability Software Systems to ensure effective development and utilization of these tools. Provide technical support to MIS or external software vendor, manage the administration of software systems, and facilitate user support to optimize system functionality and usefulness. Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on software initiatives and lead the implementation of software projects.
  • Provide end-user support for Sustainability related Software Systems (SD Risk Register, Stakeholder Mapping, Metrics, Action Tracking, and others). Assess and evaluate end-user knowledge of systems and conduct training as needed on all systems. Evaluate and analyze user requests and recommend best methodology for achieving optimum results.
  • Support worldwide internal data collection and validation efforts through the software systems. Provide validated metrics for monthly reporting, annual Sustainability reports (Sustainability, Climate, Water, etc.) and other reports as required such as CDP, DJSI, etc.
  • Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) for sustaining existing systems and implementation of new software through the design, build, testing and implementation project phases. Work closely with ESSD and H&S teams to understand emerging requirements. Review, investigate and develop appropriate requirements and recommendations regarding assigned systems.
  • Monitor technology needs and interface with IT in the development and creation of specifications for system interfaces, reports, data conversions, system modifications and new functionality. Establish processes and monitor the software systems to ensure effective integration with the business units.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agriculture, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) or Environmental Science (or similar) and eight (8) years experience in Environmental or Sustainability Management, including project management experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agriculture, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) or Environmental Science (or similar) and six (6) years experience in Environmental or Sustainability Management, including project management experience
  • Experience utilizing Sustainability Software systems in the field
  • Experience with enterprise-wide software systems development, testing, implementation and support

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and work independently or in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure

Criteria/Conditions:
  • Position is in a busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator. Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and many other protective equipment as required
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug resting as allowed by applicable state laws
