Chief Financial Officer (C.F.O)

Location:       Based in Dubai with site travel to Africa

The Opportunity

Our client is a resource development group with interests in mining. They are now seeking to recruit a chief financial offer to strengthen the executive management team. Reporting to the CEO, the candidate will provide leadership in the financial aspects of the company, with specific emphasis on Project financing.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial planning/Project finance and strategic advice
• Provide the CEO and the board with the necessary financial information to assist in successful operations of the business.
• Install robust financial control and first-class reporting.
• Ensure that the company adheres to all financial, statutory regulations and adheres to the corporate governance policies.
• Lead the company's annual budget and planning process.

The Ideal Candidate

This role will suit a senior finance professional with a commercial mindset and strong project finance experience. You will have experience in the setup and management of a high performing finance team. Working in a privately held entrepreneurial setup will be highly valuable, including greenfield experience with limited resources.

Qualifications & Experience

• CMA | CA | CGA professional accounting designation preferred supported by relevant university degree in finance and an MBA.
• Rich experience in senior finance roles, preferably within the junior resource companies.
• Extensive experience dealing with structured financing, raising capital, including project financing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and government officials, company internal management and regulatory officials.
• Sound knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles and practices.
• Ability to analyze financial data and models, and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• First class written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exposure to startup projects, ideally in Africa.
• Ability to deal with change and high levels of ambiguity.
• Have a strategic mindset with a hands-on approach.
