Reporting to a Supervisor, Sales Administration, the Administrator, Sales & Marketing is responsible for arranging the efficient and economic delivery of Teck concentrates and metals product sales worldwide, from order-taking, booking material, ensuring accurate customs and shipping documentation, and all invoicing through to final settlement including delivery of product to customer site.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, a self-starter with ability to multitask/prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, a team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Coordinates shipments from port/smelter and other points of origin to the customer as effectively, efficiently as possible by ensuring that all documentation including invoicing is complete and accurate and is presented in accordance with the sales contract.
  • Provides superior consistent customer service while maintaining records of schedules and keep all parties informed of shipment movements.
  • As a key customer contact, maintains good long-term customer relations by understanding & servicing customers’ needs.
  • Works effectively in a team environment to achieve Teck’s objectives (GOA / netbacks / returns, inventory, DSO, etc.) by:
    • Working with the transportation group to ensure timely delivery of our products in a cost effective manner.
    • Working with the team to schedule orders in an efficient and economical manner while meeting our customer commitments.
    • Working with the sales managers and finance/credit groups in monitoring/ensuring product inventory and DSO are within target levels.
  • Finds cost effective solutions to problems that may impede customer deliveries, paperwork and account issues.
  • Assists in the establishment and application of Teck’s sales policies and procedures.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders; IS, accounting and management to match our business processes to Teck’s various system applications and is able to understand the impact of actions on business processes.
  • Finds cost effective solutions, solves customer paperwork and accounting items (invoicing discrepancies, reports, assay exchanges), while facilitating the administration of the sales contract.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience working with customers in a B2B environment required. Familiarity with commodities and/or logistics preferred.
  • College or university degree in the area of business is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain good long-term customer relations by understanding customers’ needs and how products, services and processes impact needs.
  • Highly developed listening and interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders including customers and internal departments.
  • Strong computer skills, in particular with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with SAP and CRM would be preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to create accurate and timely documentation and input data.
  • Ability to uphold compliance to sales policies and procedures.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to multitask under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads to meet both internal and external deadlines.
  • A strong team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply and delivery of products including production scheduling and logistics preferred.
  • Strong English language skills (verbal and written) with the ability to express themselves in a concise fashion. Spanish and Mandarin are beneficial.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of technical and legal terms in letters of credit, shipping documents and sales contracts an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and sustainability.
