Environmental Specialist 2 or 3

Location: East Boulder Mine- McLeod, MT

POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Specialist 2/3 is an experienced environmental professional who will take ownership of and be accountable for specific aspects of Sibanye Stillwater's East Boulder Mine environmental programs. This position will focus on site compliance, training, and reporting functions while providing support for the site environmental management system (EMS).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assists with the preparation, coordination, and review of compliance requirements, monitoring data, compliance plans, reporting, permitting, and operating manuals.
• Ensures compliance with environmental obligations through inspections, physical audits, and timely correction of identified deficiencies.
• Authors documents required for compliance reporting, programs, and operating systems.
• Interfaces with and provides guidance to site operations teams and contractors to communicate compliance standards.
• Builds and maintains KPI tracking and environmental dashboards for site environmental teams.
• Trains and coaches site Environmental staff in the use of databases, recordkeeping tools, software tools, and protocols for EMS documentation.
• Coordinates data reporting for water treatment and tailings management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BS, MS, or Technical Degree in environmental or engineering fields and 3-5 years environmental experience within the mining industry or related industry.
• Strong leadership qualities: character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision.
• Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Specific experience with EMS, ISO 14001, and ICMM a plus.
• Specific experience with water management, water treatment, and tailings management.
