Site Planner / Scheduler

This is an hourly contractor role to support Hatch activities in El Salvador. The Planner and Scheduler is responsible for the delivery of project planning and progress measurement, ensuring that Hatch procedures and best practices are applied, as appropriate, and recommending changes to the Project Controls Manager where required. The Planner and Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining the project master schedule to meet project objectives. The Planner and Scheduler must have experience in site planning and scheduling and experience in dealing with contractors and be required to maintain project schedules at site in close cooperation with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning teams and contractors on site.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile the baseline E ngineering, P rocurement, C onstruction ( EPC ) and Commissioning schedule T rack the schedule and make necessary changes to schedule as required.
  • Provide Planning / Scheduling input to contract administration including but not limited to tender documentation, request for proposal, addendums, bid opening, evaluation, awards, meetings, change management, financial reporting and closeout.
  • Develop, Monitor and Report Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as required to the owner / EPCM.
  • Make schedule forecasts to foresee problem areas on the schedule and notify management when these situations arise especially when they affect the critical path.
  • Break schedule down into shorter terms for easier management and tracking (example: 3 week lookahead or 90 day lookahead s ).
  • Communicate with Project Controls Manager i n Construction Progress and Schedule Mitigation.
  • Compare percentage completion to date and schedule for each work section to predict potential schedule over r uns and/or under runs as applicable.
  • Evaluate Changes for schedule impact and incorporate in the schedule. Evaluate Critical Path.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have 7 -1 0 years of progressive experience in developing and maintaining detailed engineering, construction schedules, construction progress methodologies and earned value (EVM) metrics.
  • Heavy Industrial experience is an asset.
  • Proficient user of P6 V16.0 at least.
  • Previous experience as Planner/Scheduler on EPCM projects.
  • Advance knowledge of Primavera (P6 R 1 8).

  • Excellent analytical, writing and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients and vendors.
