Minera Yanacoca SRL start their operations in 1992 in Cajamarca City partnership with Buenaventura, is the largest gold mine in South America.

Dimensions

Directly: UG Maintenance and UG EPCM Functional Lead
Indirectly: UG Mine Manager, collaborates with Functional Managers in EPCM and Owners Teams, other MYSRL Functional Team Leads (e.g. SCM, IT), Business Assistant, Consultants, UG Mining Contractors.

Purpose

Develop and manage Commissioning-Maintenance Plan deliverables so that the Chaquicocha UG successfully transitions to an operating asset within Yanacocha to make the operation more efficient, effective and at a reduced cost, providing direction and assisting the Owners/Project team.

Essential Duties

Develop detailed Surface and Underground Facilities Infrastructure Commissioning Plan(s) and training documentation with the EPC and UG Mine Contractor that ensures the plan(s) are resourced, roles and responsibilities clarified, quality standards are maintained, that Punch Lists are completed, that all spare parts are identified and purchased, and that documents that the Owner requires are identified and turned over. Reviews, audits and guides the completion of the Commissioning Plan deliverables into operational processes as the project progresses with the functional leads of the operating team. 25%
Directs and facilitates the multi-functional team tasked with achieving the business objectives of project facilities infrastructure commissioning/maintenance. 20%
Develops a asset hierarchy, containing comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for the fixed plant equipment, , optimizes the maintenance plans, and works with the UG Mine Contractor and Owner's maintenance team. 20%
Providing cohesion to all Functional team members tasked with completing the Commissioning and Maintenance Plan deliverables of the project in Stage 4 and ensuring the smooth hand off from projects to operations by applying knowledge of operational requirements. 10%.Ensure register and tracking system of component parts, develops and maintains an UG equipment asset register, and develop key standard jobs and BOM part listings for all equipment. 10%
Assist the UG Project Manager and the UG Mine Superintendent to identify processesthat ensure the UG Mining Contractor and Functional Support Departments (e.g. SCM) in innovations and communications on plan compliance. 5%
Support and participates in third partyreview, applies opportunity and risk assessments, utilizes rate and ranking to determine criticality and prioritize work, uses Value Improving practices. 5%
Create reports on project status, commissioning, and procedures. Ensures that plans are adequately documented and stored to provide guidance to future project teams and actively share knowledge within Newmont. 5%
Know and comply with the MYSRL Internal Regulation related to Safety and Occupational Health issued pursuant to Law 29783, SD. 024-2016-EM; as well as the regulations related to Safety, Integral Hygiene and Environment contained in the MYSRL Internal Work Regulations and Code of Ethics and Conduct, the MYSRL Loss Prevention Manual, the Internal Procedure/Rule Manual in the work area and the Loss Prevention activities scheduled for his/her Department.
Know and demonstrate commitment and compliance, within the limits of his/her control and when applicable to his/her activities, with the MYSRL Declaration on Environmental Commitments, the MYSRL environmental procedures and the responsibilities assigned and scheduled for his/her department.
Demonstrate social sensitivity, commitment and compliance with the Yanacocha Social Responsibility policy; maintain a socially responsible behavior with the Community and the Company.
Know and comply with the Internal Work Regulation and Code of Ethics and Conduct of MYSRL; and promote the Inclusion and Diversity culture programs.
The above responsibilities are the main responsibilities of the position. The position also develops other activities that are not included in this document and the immediate supervisor is responsible for informing such activities.

Training & Experience

Education: B.Sc. or higher - Advanced business training/degree a plus.

Experience:
10 + years combined fixed plant maintenance planning and commissioning experience, preferably at an underground mine.
Hands on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation technologies, and support functions required to operate/maintain at mine site.
Understanding the life cycle of capital facilities, maintenance requirements, and social license to operate.
Experience in supervision of operating groups and leading teams.
Experience supervising consultants or contractors.
Overseas work experience desirable as either a full time or a frequently deployed employee.
Knowledge:
Unit costing methods for budgeting and forecasting. Working knowledge of gold/copper industry accounting practices and how they drive market valuations.
Ability to work with others under challenging circumstances and conditions.
Utilize practical knowledge of the interrelationships of all functions required to execute the Business plan.
Has a strong working knowledge of SAP
Skills:
An ability to demonstrate effective communications (speaking and writing) and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with significant ability to multi-task and work within the functional group structure.
Strong technical writing, group presentation, and interpersonal skills including cultural sensitivity.
Proven ability to facilitate functional and cross functional groups to see a common goal and solve problems.
Familiarity with business systems and standard office application software
Bilingual skills, or English as a second language a plus.

Working Conditions

Position will require travel to appropriate locations (Mostly Cajamarca/Site and Lima) to support the Yanacocha Sulfides Project scope. Position will require periodic living in the Yanacocha camp. Able to work in a remote high-altitude environment. Position may require domestic and/or international travel
