Engineer 3 or 4 - Mine Projects

Location: Stillwater Mine

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides support to mine operations and support groups through planning and capital project-related work at the Stillwater Mine. The Project Engineer will undertake the duties and responsibilities ranging from infrastructure design, process optimization, support services designs, and conducting QA/QC audits of various capital projects and initiatives.

This position will also carry out duties supporting the Senior Project Engineer in the development and progress tracking of work on capital infrastructure projects.

Specifically, the primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• Provide technical/engineering support for the various mine service/support activities at Sibanye-Stillwater- Stillwater Mine (i.e. backfill, mine utilities, etc.)
• Conduct QA/QC audits concerning excavations and installations for adherence to design.
• Design and execute solutions that address operational constraints and process optimization.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
• Work with both short and long-range planners to develop plans and schedules that meet business needs.
• Work closely with mine operations and support groups to ensure identified needs are addressed through project scope and execution.
• Conduct engineering and economic evaluations to determine a course of action.
• Manage projects of various size and complexity.
• Ensure a safe working environment so that 'Everyone goes home safe Today' in accordance with engineering practices and ethics.
• Reports to Sr. Projects Engineer.
• Other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BS Mining Engineering Degree or related field with 0-3 years relevant mine experience
• Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project.
• Ability to work within both a team environment and independently.
• Good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Working knowledge and understanding of narrow vein mine operations.
