Accountant
Position Summary:
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting in the month-end closing, preparation of journal entries and financial analysis reports, and supporting the payroll and accounts payable functions among other responsibilities. An ability to build relationships across multiple functions and communicate clearly are critical to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
•Accurate and timely financial reporting
•Compliance with Company Financial Standards
•Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley/internal controls
•Payroll processing and management
•Liaison between payroll and HR functions
Activities:
•Support site safety initiatives
•Input and analyze budget data including slide presentations
•Process and maintain standard cost system data
•Conduct period end closing activities
•Research and report variances
•Compile and analyze month end results
•Compile and analyze forecasts
•Maintain capital projects within Oracle
•Maintain fixed asset system within Oracle
•Calculate and analyze unit costs
•Prepare royalty, severance, and property tax reports
•Interface with various government agencies
•Reconcile and maintain applicable general ledger accounts
•Coordinate audits
•Act as Oracle power user
•Maintain inventory of auto records
•Track hours worked, hours paid, sick leave, payroll deductions
•Major contact for payroll related issues and questions
•Post timecards for non-exempt employees and prepare adjustments for salaried employees
•Complete payroll month end close process by posting necessary journal entries to record activity, update account balances
•Reconcile payroll related balance sheet accounts
•Input and analyze budget data including slide presentations
•Process payroll reports to support management and individual areas
•Support Payroll team
•Support Accounts Payable team
•Maintain Vendor Master Data
•Other accounting work as assigned
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
•Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited 4-year college or university
•Intermediate MS Office skills
•Ability to collaborate and work well within a team
Preferred Skills and Experience
•Three years of accounting/auditing, inventory, or payroll experience
•Oracle experience
Expert MS Office skills, especially Excel
