Our client, Lihir Gold Limited operates one of the largest gold mines in Papua New Guinea 900kms north-east of Port Moresby on the tropical Niolam Island (Lihir Island). The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Engineer - Electrical Reliability position on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Electrical Reliability, you will be responsible to provide technical support for electrical reliability engineering assignments on a nominated area of the plant, as directed by the area Senior Engineer - Electrical Reliability.
Essential criteria:
- 3+ years relevant work experience essential in fixed plant maintenance and reliability engineering roles in heavy industry, preferably minerals processing is essential
- Strong SAP/ Master Data knowledge/skills
- Technical skills specific to minerals processing equipment and circuits.
- Good understanding of Electrical and Instrument systems including:
- Electrical standards (AS/NZS3000 mandatory) application and Instrument/Control standards.
- Ability to identify non-compliance issues with electrical and instrument installations.
- Capable of understanding electrical schematic drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Awareness of dangers specific to Electrical and instrument plant and installations
- Practical electrical aptitude and capabilities well suited to data processing, analysis, troubleshooting, cause and effect linkage etc.
- Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is Essential, as part of your application please include university transcripts.
- IEPNG membership is desirable
Requirements:
- Open to PNG nationals only
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last 6 months
