ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the Production Equipment Trainer is part of the Training Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Participate and assist in daily morning meetings with the training team;
  • Deliver training programs related to Health & Safety, equipment and processes;
  • Plan and organize employee training and evaluations with the concerned departments;
  • Regularly follow-up on the employees' performance by setting up meetings with the concerned departments;
  • Assist with required evaluations of the mine operators (evaluation for candidate selection, assessment for class change, evaluation for employee promotion);
  • Ensure a thorough verification, application, and development of training content based on procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Work in accordance with training standards established within the company;
  • Track and update employee training data by using the different training platforms;
  • Document and provide information to be shared with the cross-shift and supervisor.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Heavy equipment operator experience on Loader (980-992), Excavator (345-385-390-6015-6020), Dozer (D8-D9-D10), Grader (16M), Front Shovel (RH120/Cat 6030);
  • 5-10 years as production equipment operator experience;
  • Driver's License Class 1 or equivalent (Tractor Trailer) is considered an asset;
  • Experience as a Trainer in a mining, industrial or construction environment is considered an asset
  • Ability to clearly present information through presentation;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is considered an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.


Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
