How will you contribute to the team?

* Provide design solutions for System, Structure and Component modifications;

* Prepare and/or review design documents for both nuclear and conventional  systems of Nuclear Power Plants that adhere to:

   ~ Applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements

   ~ SNC-Lavalin Nuclear Inc./ Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs

   ~ Project delivery requirements and schedule

* Deliver on Procurement Engineering activities;

* Implement Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and/or Bruce Power Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes;

* Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and meetings, as required;

* Support Lead Discipline Engineer and Engineering Manager with timely updates on engineering work progress;

* Support project site installation / construction activities;

* Support commissioning activities;

* Conduct project close-out activities

Qualifications (includes, but not limited to):

* Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University;

* Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and member in good standing;

* Minimum 4 years of experience in Mechanical Design, preferably in providing design solutions for CANDU Nuclear Station Systems, Structures and Components;

* Good understanding of power plant operation and CANDU design basis is an asset;

* Experience with configuration management, plant modifications, and plant design basis;

* Working knowledge of industry codes and regulatory standards, including those applicable to pressure boundary design;

* Working knowledge of OPG and/or Bruce Power ECC work processes and procedures is an asset;

* Working knowledge of analytical design software tools is an asset;

* Site/field experience working with modifications to Nuclear Systems, Structures & Components, interfacing with construction teams is an asset;

* Strong written and oral communication skills;

* Results driven individual with strong inter-personal skills.

Other Aspects

* Travel to client sites, as required.

* Security Clearances (Candu Energy Inc. and Client) are mandatory.
