Primary Purpose
Coordinate Conuma's Geotechnical activities related to a full range of ground control engineering functions to ensure safety, and compliance to government regulations.

Responsibilities
- Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) leadership.
- The Geotechnical Engineer supports the Chief Mine Engineers primarily in the management of the geotech programs at the mines.
- Ensure that geotechnical and design recommendations provided in relation to the open pits, dumps, stockpiles, sumps, haul roads and drainage channels is understood and executed correctly in the field.
- Collect, and interpret the required geotechnical data to support the Engineer of Record.
- Provide technical advice and design analysis for ground control issues related to the open pits, dumps, stock piles, sumps, haul roads and drainage channels.
- Ensure regular updating of the ground control program and Geotech manual for water & tailings management and proper follow-ups on the different KPIs. Conduct inspections and implement surveillance programs to guarantee compliance with the program.
- Carry out regular audits of the pit slopes and dumps and record results.
- Supervise slope stabilization works, geotechnical drilling, and installation of monitoring equipment.
- Collaborate in budgeting and forecasting and ensure adequate cost control of budget.
- Develop and own Conuma's ground control plan.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to technical services staff and operators rise awareness and provide learning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- University degree in Mine/Civil/Geological Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Eligible for registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), with registration within 1 year of commencement of post.
- BC Mine Supervisor Certification
- Valid Driver's License
