Sandplant / Sandfiller Trainee


Location: Stillwater Mine

Normal Working Hours: Rotating Schedule 5x4x4x5 (days/nights)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operates underground backfill plants.
• Operates high-pressure slurry pumping systems.
• Monitors the slurry silo filling. Coordinates intake and output from silos.
• Monitors the slurry intake and output to the Geho backfill pumps at the sand plants as required.
• Draw density samples and record pertinent data related to backfill operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Maintain operational records on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Required:

• Stationary equipment operations & maintenance background
• Piping and valve installation/maintenance
• Monitor slurry silo filling and maintain both Sand Plants
• Monitor and maintain sand pours
• Communication skills-written and verbal
• Perform Backfill Audits
• Technical and mechanical aptitude
• Authorized to handle explosives per the Safe Explosives Act and be familiar with their use
• Understanding of and a strong commitment to all health, safety, and environmental regulations

Preferred:

• Mobile equipment experience
• Previous sand plant experience
