Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan, and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers and Calgary AB.

This role provides a range of administrative and clerical duties to support People Leaders - Managers, General Foreman, Superintendents and Supervisors ensuring efficiencies and compliance with Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited (NRCM) policies, standards and procedures and acts as the central point of contact for their department.

These are temporary 1 year, fixed-term, site based roles.

Accountabilities:
  • Focus on health, safety and the environment
    • Assists in the entry of department incidents in CHESS
    • Assists in preparing safety information for the daily Toolbox meetings
    • Actively participates in safey initiatives across site
  • Communicate effectively
    • Responsible for directing communication, responding to inquiries, taking messages, coordinating meetings schedules
    • Ensures regular sharing of information and effective communication between the department, the Commercial team and the Human Resources team
    • Handles confidential, time-sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Plan & implement
    • Maintains departmental schedule, processes roster changes, creates requests for personnel to the highest degree of accuracy
    • Enters daily time for department employees into CATS
    • Maintains employee and contractor information in SAMS for travel to/from site
    • Processes purchase requisitions
    • Schedules training for employees
  • Leverage technology
    • Efficiency in SAP, SAMS, DATS, CHESS, Sharepoint, and all Microsoft Products

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Certification in office or Business Administration
  • Minimum three years proven related work experience in an administrative role required
  • Demonstrated experience in accurate high volume data entry within SAP and/or other ERP software
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Products
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of administration
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision once familiar with requirements
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative; proactively looks for ways to add value
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize based on business demands
