Position summary
Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) is committed to providing the highest quality of Rollingstock & Overhaul services for both the local NSW and wider Australian markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst
About the role:
Our Senior Financial Analyst will partner with NSW Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) providing strong financial management and business insights. Reporting to the NSW Commercial Finance Manager, this position will have primary responsibility for the financial management of the Project Forecast Cost at Completion (FCAC) model, profit & loss, budgets, forecasts, financial modelling and analysis. You will also be a key contributor to the wider RTS Commercial and Corporate Services business function.
Role requirements:
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure the accuracy of all financial and management reports
  • Provide value-add commentary and analysis
  • Managing costs across the project streams
  • Preparation of operational and capital budgets
  • Drive business ownership of financial forecasts and budgets
  • Continuously improve and adapt the FCAC models
  • Partnering project teams ensuring the accuracy of cost allocations
  • Project variations and margin management
  • Compliance reporting
  • Embrace and promote Downer's Zero Harm policies.
Specific desired skills and experience:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent business experience
  • Financial and analytical modelling
  • Tax laws regulations
  • Project or Management Accounting
  • Meaningful translation of financial data
  • Document control and policy compliance
  • Strong written communications and report-writing skills
  • Advanced computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite
