Summary:
Apply principles of cost accounting to conduct studies providing detailed cost information and analysis. Assist in month, quarter and year end closing process. Also performs accounting functions pertaining to general ledger, operational budget development and reporting, capital justification and associated budget tracking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:
(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
Monitor production inventory costing and levels. Prepare cost variance analyses and related reports. Review monthly forecast for content and accuracy. Compare stated performance with operating plans and standards. Recommend operational adjustments to approach if required. Assists Controller in the financial analysis of key business strategies and/or projects and make recommendations based on anticipated outcomes. Prepare reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of expenses based on past, present, and expected operations. Assist with preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, forecasts, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification. Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities including capital approval and reporting. Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies. Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Deliverables:
Timely and accurate closing of books at month, quarter and year end. Thorough analysis and explanation of cost variances. Highly motivated individual who accepts responsibility and delivers timely and accurate information. Works well in team environment. Skills commensurate with level of responsibility.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, and three years plus related experience. Standard cost accounting experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment and a CPA/CMA certificate is a plus.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC proficient with the ability to quickly master skills required to function with expertise in JD Edwards Enterprise One. Must be proficient in Word, and Excel applications.
