Dimensions

Purpose

Manage the Local content construction for the Yanacocha Sulfides Project in accordance with the project plan and schedule and ensure that both Owner direct subcontractors and the Prime Contractor and its subcontractors are complying with the Project polices and construction plans, and direct hire of Local Local and Local contractors as required to support the overall Project. Lead a team in construction management of Local content in coordination with the Project's Commercial, S&ER, and Engineering Teams is critical to the success of the Project.

Essential Duties

Management: 50% - Responsible to the Owner's Construction Manager on all aspects of the construction work packages by Owner using Local Local and Local contractors. Primary contact to the Prime Contractor's Construction
leader for Local engagement. Responsible to management of site activities involving Local contractors per requirements in the prime contract agreement. Maintains direction and adheres to construction contracting strategy for Local Engagement implemented for the project. Lead a team of construction professionals in managing the local content contractors. A majority of the contracts will involve earthworks and installation of geosynthetics for the Project. Manage and coordinate with Supply Chain on the delivery and expediting of Local engagement contracts and materials to meet the Project Schedule requirements. Construct the facilities and execute the strategy and tactics required in the comprehensive Project Local Content Policy Document (LCPD) being developed for the Project by Project Commercial in coordination with all Key Stakeholders. This includes managing the Construction activities performed by the Local and Local contractors engaged by the Project. Promote and manage early local recruitment with the Project's commercial, engineering, and supervision team leaders; as well as, with the Yanacocha Local Engagement Department and the S&ER department. Advise each of the different project teams, in coordination with the Yanacocha Local Engagement Area on status and potential Local Contractor engagement issues, local social conflict matters, early warnings, among others.

Supervision: 40% - Supervise the Projects Health and Safety Program, and Environmental Program in compliance with Newmont Standards for the Local Engagement. Ensures the highest safety standards attainable are achieved through good safety management. Lead Local and Local contractor monitoring practices, compliance with contractual regulations and standards and legal compliance. Know and comply with the MYSRL Internal Regulation related to Safety and Occupational Health issued pursuant to Law 29783, SD. 024-2016-EM; as well as the regulations related to Safety, Integral Hygiene and Environment contained in the MYSRL Internal Work Regulations and Code of Ethics and Conduct, the MYSRL Loss Prevention Manual, the Internal Procedure/Rule Manual in the work area and the Loss Prevention activities scheduled for his/her Department. Know and demonstrate commitment and compliance, within the limits of his/her control and when applicable to his/her activities, with the MYSRL Declaration on Environmental Commitments, the MYSRL environmental procedures and the responsibilities assigned and scheduled for his/her department. Demonstrate social sensitivity, commitment and compliance with the Yanacocha Social Responsibility policy; maintain a socially responsible behavior with the Community and the Company. Know and comply with the Internal Work Regulation and Code of Ethics and Conduct of MYSRL; and promote the Inclusion and Diversity culture programs. The above responsibilities and obligations represent the nature and degree of assigned responsibilities; not all are necessarily included. Pla nning: 10% - Review the sequencing of activities and the construction strategy implemented for the Local Engagement contracts.

Training & Experience

Bachelors of Science in an engineering discipline and/or Construction Management with more than 10 years practical experience in engineering, construction and mining operations. Civil or Mining engineering preferred.

10 years in experience in earthworks construction at open pit mining sites. Minimum of 3 years working with local contractors.

Proven track record in team leadership, social responsibility, negotiation with social groups, conflict management and resolution, executing local recruitment strategies.

Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), A-1 driver's license.

Working Conditions

Be in good health and physical condition to conduct work in areas ranging 3,000 to 4,000 MASL.
Position is located at the Project Site in Cajamarca, Peru.
Leadership, analytical capacity, strategic thinking, negotiation, assertive communication, good interpersonal skills at all levels, conflict resolution, social sensitivity, relationship with interest groups, knowledge and understanding of rural and urban culture and customs, initiative.
