Perseus Mining Limited (“PML”) is a dual listed (ASX/TSX) gold miner, developer and explorer whose activities are focused on the West African region. Perseus operates the Edikan Gold Mine in Ghana, the Sissingué Gold Mine in northern Côte d’Ivoire, and the Yaouré Gold Mine, also in Côte d’Ivoire.

About the Role:

The Project Generation Manager is a permanent, fulltime position based in our Subiaco Head Office, the successful applicant will be required to complete site visits to target companies’ sites for due diligence and assessment purposes and regularly visit and work at our international operating sites in West Africa. The Project Generation Manager, will be responsible for development and management of conceptual and project generation studies, including studies completed by external consultants. The role will be tightly integrated within the Company’s exploration team and the candidate will be expected to introduce and help drive technological innovation across the group.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Identify & assess new Business Growth opportunities in West Africa and beyond, particularly those at an exploration or pre-development stage.
• Develop and assist in the implementation of exploration strategies for the company’s existing projects.
• As part of the Business Growth team, participate in the assessment of M&A opportunities.
• Assist senior management in the preparation of annual Business Growth & Exploration budgets and programs.
• Introduce new concepts & technology to the Exploration group and mentor exploration staff in the effective application of these technologies.
   

Skills/ Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Geology (post-graduate qualifications in economic geology or mineral economics desirable).
• Ability to sign-off on Exploration for JORC and NI430-101 reports (desirable).
• Min. 15 years relevant experience in the mining and exploration industry, particularly in the project generation and evaluation role (International experience will be advantageous).
• Expertise in applying a broad range of geoscientific data sources to project generation activities.
• A high level of competency in relevant GIS and geoscientific software.
• Autonomy and accountability in delivering pro-gen programs.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the business (internal and external).
• A high level of written communication and presentation skills.
• Good problem-solving skills with high degree of attention to detail.
• Excellent relationship building and leadership skills, including mentoring of team members within a multinational exploration group.
• Ability and willingness to operate in remote and challenging environments.
