In line with Barminco's forecasted growth, we are seeking applications from experienced Underground Trainer to join our Botswana Zone 5 operations. Reporting to the Project Manager this position will work an 8 week on 6 weeks off roster.

Please note that due to the unfolding circumstances of COVID-19 and the Government regulations in place, the roster advertised in this advert may be subject to change in the future when the government border restrictions and controls are reassessed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The ability to mentor and train employees with no previous operating experience.
• To assist these employees to achieve a high level of situational and safety awareness as well as the required skills to operate efficiently.
• Experience facilitating training, ensuring the training is time effective and learning outcomes are achieved in a short period of time.
• The ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels within our organisation and always maintain professional decorum.
• Knowledge of relevant mining legislation, acts, regulations and standards which are referenced within the operator training program.

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or Enterprise Skill Set
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a training role
• International experience desirable but not essential
• 5 years proven underground experience
• Experience in training Service Crew, Charge-Up and Bogger
• Adherence to mining laws and safety regulations, and ability to issue directives to workers to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's)
• Valid Manual Australian Driver's Licence
• Current National Police Clearance (valid within six months)
