Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
Hatch is seeking a Document Controller for our Vancouver office.
The document controller is responsible for applying corporate and project procedures to ensure the control and distribution of project documentation. This includes quality checking, registering, classifying, managing, tracking, and transmitting electronic documents as required by the project. They are responsible for the accurate and up-to-date publishing of documents and their associated metadata, in an electronic document management system (EDMS), to ensure the project team has access to current information that can be tracked and measured, and reported to our clients.
Day-to-day tasks include:
• Quality checking documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and procedures
• Uploading electronic documents into the project EDMS ensuring accurate revision control and capture of metadata
• Transmitting documents to internal and external project participants
• Providing reports on controlled documents
• Assisting all users with EDMS functionality and access queries
The candidate will report to the document management lead but must be able to work under minimal supervision, to take ownership of tasks and see them to completion in a time-sensitive environment. They will be required to work on multiple projects and navigate changing priorities. 1-2 years’ experience is essential, ideally in an engineering environment including experience with vendor documents. A thorough working knowledge of document control principles is required as well as experience with EDMS. Experience with preparation and formatting of documents, as an expert Office 365 user, is desirable.
