Do you want to live where other people vacation? The Doe Run Company is looking for a Tech Services Superintendent to lead our Tech Services group to provide current and future extraction planning through data analytics, technical innovation, and enhanced mining methods.  This position is based in the Viburnum trend, near the Mark Twain National Forest, with local offices in Viburnum, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely pillar extraction and backfill plans to production, using DRC standards and ensuring extraction safety rules are followed
  • Lead or participate in projects including AFE completion and approval, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, budget development and tracking, and project reporting and tracking
  • Delegate assignments to engineering team to facilitate goal completion and skills development for the team members Coach and develop employees to maximize performance, development, and retention of employees
  • Provide technical consultation on potential projects, infrastructure of mining operations, mining methods, ventilation, pumping, or production issues
  • Prepare reserve reports and other relevant reporting directly or by delegation
  • Review current mining operations and investigate other methods to improve efficiency in mine operations

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in mine engineering and capital project management
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Strongly recommended – Operations supervisory experience - >3 years
  • Underground mining industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geological Tech Engineering or related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, I-Series, and PeopleSoft, Mining software
  • Project Management – multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Proven ability to understand and comply with environmental health and safety rules and regulations
  • Proven ability to apply mine engineering principles
  • Strong understanding of Mineral Economic Analysis
  • Mine Design and strong understanding of alternative mining methods
  • Vendor management
