About the Role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Advisor to drive and facilitate risk management activities across the Sustaining Capital portfolio of projects for Rio Tinto Iron Ore.
This role reports to the Risk Principal - Sustaining Capital.
Role & Responsibilities
  • Risk analysis and management form a part of project delivery decision making through provision of risk facilitation and analysis services to project delivery teams
  • Reporting of material project risks is active, timely and relevant to project leads with particular focus on risk management actions to inform project management decisions
  • Risk assessment outputs are well considered in project controls and other supporting processes i.e. procurement
  • Generate portfolio-related risk insights to inform Divisional leadership discussions focused on the risk management control framework
  • Add a risk perspective in key project delivery governance forums
  • Shares process improvement insights to project delivery teams across Rio Tinto Group
  • Lessons learned and the outcomes of post investment reviews are incorporated into the project delivery risk profile
  • Translates outputs from risk analysis and management activities into business language to support decision making and governance and oversight
  • Proactively work with the Project managers, Delivery managers and Risk Business Partners to mature the risk capability across Sustaining Capital
  • Maintain Sustaining Capital framework documents, guides, tools and training materials
  • Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across functions and business units
  • Develop and foster a culture of collaboration, learning and inclusiveness within the team
  • Prepare project risk information to support various decision making discussions i.e. project steering committees

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in applying risk in a project delivery environment of small to medium sized projects (A$1M -$200M)
  • Strong working knowledge of project controls (desirable)
  • Demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised with high integrity in a deadline driven environment
