KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety, Health, Environment and Community
Demonstrate safe behavior at all times
Comply with the site’s standards and procedures in SHEC.
Promote awareness of SHEC practices.
Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in
support of the department, site and company standards. 
Reporting of all SHEC incidents.
Demonstrate leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations
Provide clear expectations on performance in SHEC through setting objectives and KPIs in SHEC for all our employees and contractors
Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself, at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines

Operations
To establish and monitor strategies for improving Maintenance performance for the Nyrstar Tennessee Mines including training in maintenance and development of computer based maintenance management systems
Ensure mine infrastructure is maintained to a standard to enable annual plan targets to be met, and the long term integrity of assets are established through life of mine planning
Coordinate the Maintenance budget to achieve the annual plan
Manage expenditure to within budget levels
Ensure all projects are effectively budgeted and monitored to within cost constraints
Understand cost drivers within Maintenance Department and seek improvement in unit cost performance
Ensure reporting and recording requirements are maintained accurately and on time and that communication channels for relaying information to appropriate personnel are maintained and improved.
Develop and maintain reliability focused maintenance documentation for each asset

People and Organization
Establish and maintain relationships with operations personnel to ensure a focused effort on the elimination of failure and the extension of machine life
Actively participate in the Maintenance Management team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department
Provide and ensure effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of section personnel
Ensure deployment and skill level requirements of section personnel are maintained to enable achievement of the annual plan
Ensure that all new hires meet and or excess the requirement for Mechanical entrance level “Quality personnel”
Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and visions and values

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation trade qualification
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
Minimum 8 years in the mining or any other heavy industry
Understanding of all aspects of underground / Mobile Equipment operation within metalliferous mining

Proven ability to lead and supervise their team to the highest safety standards
Ability to use and interpret relevant computer systems and outputs
Ability to establish, utilize and interpret spreadsheets and data
Sound experience in negotiating complex solutions from conflicting priorities
Good time management and prioritization skills

Sound methods and approaches to persuade, convince or influence others
Ability to create a climate in which people want to do their best by empowering individuals and teams and by communicating a clear vision and purpose
