Location: Columbus, MT

POSITION SUMMARY: The asset manager is responsible for managing the daily operation for the equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance function. The asset manager is a true first level manager that ensures the project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. This person has the full authority for personnel actions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all strategic acquisition, life cycle analysis of the assets (current and new) in conjunction with the operations and maintenance teams (mobile, stationary, fixed plant).
  • Ensures proper tracking of asset records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment
  • Minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and life cycle analysis
  • Documents and tracks equipment quality throughout the product lifetime
  • Partners with operations to determine go forward strategy encompassing all asset use, including green initiatives
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repairs/replacement and safety assurance.
  • Manage through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Gives input to develop annual budget
  • Acts as project manager for continued operational process improvement
  • Supports safety initiatives and best practice for equipment usage
  • Supports equipment utilization and optimization projects


QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Extensive knowledge of department processes.
  • 5 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • 3 years managerial experience
  • Experience in Inventory Systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and organize as well as communicate effectively to cross functional disciplines
  • Working knowledge of other disciplines - Procurement, Maintenance and IS (JDE Specific)
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • 2+ years of Asset management operating modules experience

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Problem solving and analyzing data
  • Report Writing
  • Experience in Mining Industry or construction asset based companies
  • Other duties as assigned
