Downer manages and maintains Infrastructure Networks across Australia and New Zealand, we manufacture and supply products and services to create safe, efficient and reliable journeys. Downers and subsidiary VEC seamlessly integrates and compliments Downers services offering, with their specialist Tasmanian offering of road and rail works, civil construction, bridge design and construction, and water infrastructure.

Due to continual growth, we have a new opportunity for a Pre-Contracts Engineer to work within our Tendering and Pre-Contracts team based in Austins Ferry, Hobart. In this role you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to develop project construction methodologies, working closely with the estimating team and preparing tender submissions technical content and programs, for Infrastructure projects across Tasmania.

What you'll be working on:

• Preparing technical content, construction methodologies and programs.
• Working seamlessly within an estimation team, ensuring alignment of methodologies and programs with the cost plans and risk profile.
• Reviewing with the Commercial Advisor, RFT / RFQ / RFS Terms and Conditions with a focus on understanding scope and methodology risk profile.
• Assisting the Pre-Contract Manager with the day to day compliance administration and technical writing for all tenders / bids.

About You:

Ideally you will be degree qualified with strong commercial and technical engineering skills.

You may be a site-based Civil or Structural Engineer looking for a change or a consultant wanting to switch to the construction side with an interest in joining a leading ASX listed organisation.
