We are seeking a Senior Advisor External Assurance Lead on a full-time 12 month fixed term basis to support the RTIO Health, Safety, Environment & Communities team. Based in our centrally located head office in Perth CBD, we are looking for someone who is passionate about ESG (Environment, Social & Governance).

Reporting to the Environment Business Partner RTIO, you will be responsible to support RTIO assets with implementation and assurance of the external ESG certifications and commitments. This is a true "project management" role requiring you to influence stakeholders including site GM's and SME's by driving business outcomes to ensure the successful implementation of this framework. Your remit will include but not be limited to:
- Working with a broad range of stakeholders in the implementation and maintenance of the ESG certifications and commitments;
- Management of External RTIO ESG Audit Schedule including: International Council on Mining and Metals Performance Expectations (ICMM PEs), Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), Global Industry Standard on Tailing Management (GISTM) certifications etc.;
- Lead and work collaboratively with asset teams on completion of ICMM PE self-assessments and support external audits as required;
- Maintenance of register of content experts for ICMM, TSM (in conjunction with ASI Advisors), GISTM;
- Coaching of HSEC and asset teams on requirements of external certifications and commitments such as ICMM Performance Expectation, TSM, GISTM;
- Reporting requirements related to ICMM, TSM, GISTM;
- Creation and standardisation of Sustainability training for roles which includes content for ICMM, TSM, GISTM;
- Support the communication of ESG strategy and results (internal and external);
- Creation and standardisation of internal RTIO Management System portal and documentation to support the implementation of the external commitments.
What you'll bring
Preferred candidates will have a background in an ESG stream (e.g. HSE, Communities, Cultural Heritage, Human Resources / Working Conditions, Responsible Sourcing) coupled with a working knowledge of developing, implementing and maintaining audit strategies to meet compliance requirements.
You are eager to learn, take on new challenges and thrive in a team environment. You are resourceful and able to provide guidance to business stakeholders where required. You have highly developed communication, problem solving and analytical skills and can translate knowledge into learning packages for business stakeholders. You are accustomed to handling multiple tasks and tight deadlines, organising and prioritising with little supervision and dealing with people at all levels. You are skilled in using the Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Where you'll be working
Perth based but with a working focus on supporting Rio Tinto's Iron Ore Assets. In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets supported by functional teams in the Perth hub: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
