Senior / Principal Scientist
Work Location: Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
Key accountabilities will include:
- Position FFI at the forefront of R&D into hydrogen and associated vectors, including ammonia, liquid organic hydrogen carriers and synthetic hydrocarbons
- Develop a technology portfolio into hydrogen and associated vectors
- Foster and guide strategic R&D partnerships with leading institutions in Australia and abroad
- Inform, develop and review external R&D portfolio
- Review, assess and prioritise technologies across the renewable hydrogen value chain for application in Fortescue's projects
- Evaluate technologies and companies for potential investment and acquisition
- Develop and maintain relationships and legal agreements with technology vendors and original equipment manufacturers
- Represent Fortescue at external meetings and conferences
- Contribute information as required for internal and external communications, for example, Board papers and press releases
Qualifications and skills required:
- Doctorate in science or engineering
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Research and development experience evidenced by scientific publications, patents, successful funding proposals and partnerships
