We are looking for a seasoned professional for a role in Data & Analytics to support the Group Services division based out of Gurgaon to support the delivery of processes (captive and Outsource Service Provider) ensuring a performance driven organization with a commercial intent that focuses on customer satisfaction.

Group Services offers world-class centralised business support services, including transactional HR, Procurement and Finance & Accounting Services. Group Services prides itself on providing easy-to use and quality services and solutions to enable our product groups to focus on core operational objectives.

Reporting line: Manager Analytics & Business Enablement

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below
  • Supporting, defining, implementing, and reporting the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Rio Tinto customers (transactional HR and Finance & Accounting Services)
  • Developing visualization, dashboards and reporting solutions as well as providing generic support/change requests
  • Performing data discovery, analysis, and profiling to validate the business requirements, providing inputs into the functional design
  • Identifying data quality and integrity issues to discover fit for purpose data sets
  • Implementing Tableau/Powerbase dashboards, scorecards, and reports to enhance understanding and usability
  • Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Working as a thought partner with the business and senior members of the team in determining relevant data & analytics use cases, developing proof of concepts and scaling them as strategic long-term offerings to group services stakeholders
  • Carrying out data deep dives and analysis per management requests and communicating technical outcomes to non-technical audience
  • Ensuring proper source control, document best practices and quality assurance processes are implemented and followed to maintain resilience & process integrity Additional:
  • Systemically identify data integrity issues
  • Discover issues with data accuracy, caused by system and human errors, provide recommendations for improvement

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Overall, 4-8 years of experience in a global organization with multi-cultural discipline
  • Minimum 3+ years of rich experience with Tableau/PowerBI, DAX and SQL
  • Strong SQL skills with proficiency in data modelling & data warehousing concepts
  • Experience of working in the high-performance data engineering team environment
  • 1-3 years of experience with (ETL) tools such as Easymorph, SSIS, Informatica
  • Knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot tables, analytical functions, macros) & Power point
  • Understanding of process documentation principles
  • Proven communication & writing skills; be able to tell the story behind the data
  • Diligence and attention to details

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience of working with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Amazon Redshift/MS Azure
  • Exposure to scripting language such as R/Python
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and underlying statistical techniques: regression, classification, scenario modelling, clustering etc.
  • Experience within and/or exposure to shared services (captive and outsourced) will be an asset
