Barr is seeking an administrative assistant to join its Minneapolis office and support one of our four business units. Primary responsibilities will include supporting business unit leaders and providing the following support for internal and external meetings: scheduling across multiple offices; providing logistic support; coordinating agendas, presenters, and catering; and setting up Microsoft Teams meeting technology and troubleshooting when necessary. Other assignments will include developing and editing presentation materials, drafting communications, performing word processing and assembling documents, creating PDFs and copies, creating and modifying Excel spreadsheets, and other administrative tasks as requested. Work will require frequent interaction with other administrative staff, project managers, and internal teams to inform them of work status and coordinate the completion of tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business management or administration, communications, or a related field plus two or more years of professional office experience. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of five years of professional office experience is expected.
  • Strong client-service mentality and an attitude and desire to help teams be successful
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and task follow through
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize, solve problems, and make decisions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong listening skills
  • Self-initiative and motivation with an emphasis on client service
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., primarily in the Minneapolis office
  • A flexible working style and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or administration, communications, or a related field
  • Experience with advanced functions of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience setting up and hosting webinar functions in Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Deltek Vision
