The Opportunity
We are looking for a Mechanical Craftsman Mobile Maintenance (Mine) to to join the Kennecott Asset Management department in a Field Maintenance role. This is a craftsman role, residentially based in Salt Lake City, Utah focused on improving availability, reliability, and processes around maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

For more than 110 years, Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich orebody of the Bingham Canyon Mine. What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity to work for a global mining organization and further develop your technical skill set. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance, you will be:
- Actively engaging with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe and promote the "Zero Harm" safety culture
- Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical components on large hydraulic/electric drills and shovels in accordance with MSHA standards and standard work instructions
- Working closely with Maintenance Support in developing safe and efficient standard work instructions , maintenance improvement efforts, and cost saving initiatives
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A constant commitment to approaching tasks safely and intelligently
- Ability and commitment to work rotating 12-hour shifts (Both days and nights)
- Relevant experience, preferably in heavy industry/mining or a millwright trade
- State electrical/millwright licensing or technical electrical training/schooling
- Competency in welding, basic hydraulics, equipment alignment, pumps, and mechanical/electrical fundamentals and best practice
