About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to both support and improve applications, systems and services used in our Operations Centre.

This is a great opportunity for a team player to grow their career and be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team providing technical expertise to support internally developed and vendor produced applications, as well as providing new solutions to accessing, processing and utilising data across various domains within our Iron Ore business.

Reporting to the Senior Production Systems Engineer and working in an exciting and diverse team in the Business Applications team you will:
  • Work within an engineering team to support the 30+ systems and applications used across our business
  • Develop and implement new technology-based solutions
  • Provide technical input to project scoping, planning and implementation phases
  • Build working relationships with team members to facilitate a culture of shared knowledge and common processes
  • Create and maintain documentation for the systems and applications supported by the team
  • Facilitate transition to support activities from project to operational support teams

What you'll bring
  • Tertiary education in software engineering, computer science, or relevant industry experience
  • A few years' experience working in a technical role
  • Adaptable and motivated to learning new technologies
  • Excellent self-time management and prioritisation to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and development activities
  • Experience in and ability to adhere to applicable policies, standards and solutions architecture
  • Any experience with the supported technologies such as data historians, web-based applications, integration with and improvements to control systems, data analytics, stockpile management, system security and downtime/delay accounting systems would be desirable.
