Position summary
Downer has over 100 years' rail experience providing end-to-end, innovative transport solutions. We are a leading provider of rollingstock asset management services in Australia, with expertise in delivering whole-of-life asset management support to our customers.

Our capability allows us to offer turnkey solutions for complex projects and spans every project phase, from design and manufacture to through-life-support, condition monitoring and data analytics, fleet maintenance, operations and comprehensive overhaul of assets.

About the Role

The Fleet Operations Support Officer provides technical liaison and support to Sydney Trains (ST). This position will liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to provide first line fault identification, mitigation and reporting on Downer fleet while in service. This includes the provision of information into the Downer business about fleet issues, develop countermeasures and action recovery plans to optimise the Availability and Reliability of the fleet.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a trade qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) combined with five years' experience. Prior experience in a rail-related position with familiarity of the sector would be well regarded. You should be able to read circuit and mechanical drawings and have an aptitude for IT. Experience with Word, Excel is essential and knowledge of a Database such as Maximo would be well regarded.

You will also need to be a strong problem solver with sound analytical capability. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills are required combined with the ability to perform well in a pressured environment.

This role is being offered on a permanent full-time basis at the AMC and Green Square locations
