Job Details

This key position is responsible for the initial and ongoing staffing for the McIlvenna Bay Project.  This position will initially be via remote, but ultimately will be a mix of time on site and our central Saskatchewan Office.  You will provide oversight, support for all project work including Advanced Exploration Activities and Operational Readiness.  As Foran sets out on a development path, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the development, execution, and implementation of a wide variety of Health and Safety processes for McIlvenna Bay.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Health & Safety Management Plan in collaboration with leadership team and provide ongoing oversite and training to all employees
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to all HSE Coordinators and line leadership
  • Support a risk identification and mitigation approach to health, safety and environment management, in partnership with the Manager, Environment and Permitting and site personnel
  • Evaluate and select health & safety tracking, and reporting software used to promote pro-active safety culture
  • Build and manage health & safety tracking metrics with a focus on proactive indicators
  • Ensure all Industrial Hygiene activities are completed as per the regulatory requirements
  • Assist Human Resources with management of employee wellness, workplace illness and injury claims
  • Lead and promote a visible felt leadership style of proactive engagement from all employees
  • Participate in workplace activities including inspections, FRAs, JHAs, Safety Meetings, Incident Investigations, and risk management facilitation
  • Contribute to the development of the Foran Inclusion & Diversity strategy and act as a change leader and mentor for company Inclusion & Diversity goals
  • Build and manage the HSE budget, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial setting where Health and Safety was your primary role
  • University of College degree in health and safety
  • Ability to develop, implement and audit HSE programs for exploration and mine sites
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency with applicable labour laws, legislation, and mining regulations
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills to interpret, present, communicate and manage decision making
  • Experience with MS Office
