Permitting and Environmental Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the applicable regulatory authorizations for compliant start up of the McIlvenna Bay Project.  You will work with local stakeholders and community members to lead the development of all operational environmental monitoring policies and procedures.  You will be an active participant on the site Emergency Response team and be an active Mine Rescue Volunteer.  Foran anticipates this role transitioning to permanent, full-time depending on timing of mine construction approval.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Community Liaison in providing regular environmental updates to local stakeholders and communities
  • Work with the Permitting Lead in ensuring diligent, timely receipt of key operating licenses
  • Assist with developing detailed application packages for the project
  • Develop environmental monitoring policies and procedures
  • Manage and report on permitting schedules and budgets
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure any land/water usage fees are kept in good standing
  • Coordinate and assist various consultants visiting the site to conduct base line and monitoring programs to support compliance or permitting activities
  • Ensure time and temperature sensitive lab samples are delivered following mandated Chain of Custody protocols
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental field reports/memos, compliance reports, management plans and online reporting functions as they pertain to regulatory and permit requirements
  • Establish database for all field data and report on daily, weekly, monthly trends and variances
  • Participates in meetings and field inspections with the company, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agency personnel, as required
  • Support site operations by planning and delivering environmental training for employees, contractors and service providers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Environmental Technology Diploma
  • 3 - 5 years of related technical experience
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations, environmental compliance, and permitting process within Saskatchewan
  • Demonstrated experience operating various types of all-season, all terrain vehicles and field instrumentation (ATV, Snow machine, boat/motor, flow/water quality meter, GPS, laptops, data loggers)
  • Good management and communication skills with the ability to effectively work with on-site personnel
  • Mine rescue volunteer would be an asset
  • Valid drivers license
  • Experience MS Office
