Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, signalling, track and station works, rail safety technology, bridges and roads.

NEWest Alliance is a multidisciplinary collaboration between CPB Contractors and Downer, working with the Public Transport Authority to deliver over $1.2 billion of works as part of METRONET.

Across two projects (Yanchep Rail Extension and Thornlie-Cockburn Link), the Alliance will add 32 kilometres of track to Perth's rail network, 5 new stations and 3 station modifications as well as 14 kilometres of principal shared path.

Together the projects are set to create 3000 jobs and once operational will give residents of the northern and southern suburbs greater access to employment and training, entertainment and recreation hubs.

What the job looks like

We are now seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Lead- Stations to join our progressive Rail / Civil Infrastructure team to help build sustainable, long lasting infrastructure solutions.

Based in Bibra Lake, you will have an exciting opportunity to join our METRONET team and be apart of a plan, design and construct rail team where you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and have a major impact on project outcomes.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring financial and operational priorities are met or exceeded.
• To manage the procurement team and provide procurement support and advice whilst achieving optimum production and cost outcomes over the course of the project.
• Plan and administer procurement personnel workload and report on outputs.
• Ensure that commercial and procurement opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability and supporting the project decision making.

How you will add value

• 2-5 years' experience within a Procurement officer, advisor role.
• Experience reporting on performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
• Skills in resolving issues and overcoming obstacles that may arise.
• Skills in data and administrative management practices and procedures.
• Relevant computer packages; use of word processing, spread sheet, databases and email software.
