About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Support Officer to join our Hope Downs Fixed Plant Team. The purpose of this role is to participate in the daily consolidation of scheduled planned maintenance for Rio Tinto Iron Ore operations. We are looking for an individual with good time management and organisational skills.

Working a FIFO roster of 8 days on & 6 off, and reporting to the Fixed Plant Superintendent, the role will require you to conduct the following activities:
  • Participate in planning and scheduling meetings
  • Assist maintenance team in general application of efficient maintenance planning methodologies
  • Analyse parts requirements for planned work
  • Ensure timely consolidation of parts through the coordination with Maintenance Planners, Schedulers, Warehouse Officers, and freight providers, RTP Buy team and vendors
  • Timely notification to maintenance Planners and Schedulers of any parts supply issues which may impact planned or scheduled work
  • Consolidate materials (ready for delivery) in accordance with scheduled Work Orders
  • Coordinate the return of stock to the warehouse in accordance with the RTIV process for the credit, vendor credit or disposal
  • Continuous Improvement including the application of site-specific improvement methodologies related to safety, service, and efficiency improvements
  • Provide front-line procurement and logistics support to the maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination functions with a superior level of proactive customer service
  • Ensure all audit requirements are met and are in line with company policy and procedure requirements

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Australian "C" Class manual Drivers' Licence
  • A working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP
  • High Risk tickets LF & DG, as well as a Dangerous Goods License (preferred)

The Hope Downs mine is located in the Hamersley Group which forms the middle layer of Mount Bruce Group in the Marra Mamba Iron Formation. It is situated 100km north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Australia.
