Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mining Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking for a Superintendent Contract to support the Principal Contracts and Sourcing in establishing, embedding and regulating governance of the Lihir Site Contracts and Contractor engagement functions.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE

8 - 10 years of experience in developing, refining, and implementing contract management requirements.

• Strong legal background especially in terms of drafting and interpreting contracts to ensure that Newcrest is operating within the PNG Law, meets the Newcrest Policies & Procedures and managing risks in contract etc

• Extensive experience in leading a team in a national scale; leading that involved coaching and developing the team.

• Highly effective communicator as you will be communicating across all levels of the business including those that are in the Head Office in Melbourne and the support office in Brisbane.

• Extremely efficient and effective in time management especially that the organization is consistently changing when it comes to business requirements and conditions.



CORE RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to such

This role focuses on identifying, establishing, and maintaining a strong contracts and contract management function in three key areas:

• Monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on suite of contracts at Lihir; including continual assessment of governance considerations with key contracts

• Develop procedures and establish contract management rhythms and routines in accordance with value, risk, strategic factors

• Provide leadership and coaching to the contracts team, including quality assurance of orders associated with OA's and identifying gaps where contracts are required but not in place

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in Commercial related tertiary qualification (Law, Business, Ethics and Compliance or equivalent. (ESSENTIAL)



TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

8 - 10 years of experience in developing, refining, and implementing contract management requirements (ESSENTIAL)

• Working knowledge on systems including SAP and POWER BI (DESIRABLE)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (ESSENTIAL)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (strong command of English) (ESSENTIAL)

• Able to work with senior stakeholders and be proactive in a complex environment (ESSENTIAL)

• Experience in collation of data in response to audit requests (ESSENTIAL)



KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE

• Commercially astute, with strong comprehension of contract terms, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross functional and interdisciplinary teams (ESSENTIAL)

• Previous experience developing and implementing contract management process (ESSENTIAL)

• Demonstrated ability to build and implement contract plans to address gaps in uncontracted spend (ESSENTIAL)

• Previous experience working in a developing country, coaching and managing a team (DESIRABLE)

• Ability to coach and lead skills development and empower national based employees (ESSENTIAL)

• Work and lead the team autonomously (ESSENTIAL)

• Interest and enthusiasm to continue to develop strong partnerships with site operational contract owners (ESSENTIAL)



MOBILISATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be open to work in Lihir as a National FIFO with 20/22 Roster

• Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance.

• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
