Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that users have access to the data and IT resources they need on a daily basis
  • Leads the implementation of new technology and maintenance of existing technology 
  • Maintains and monitors daily operations of infrastructure and technology, analyzing work, developing standards, setting deadlines and following up on execution 
  • Oversee data and IT security
  • Develop company wide IT standards and protocols
  • Effectively track assets and software distribution
  • Monitors system life cycles, ensures specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions.
  • Collaborates with various departments on projects and leads the implementation of projects. 
  • Collaborates with vendors in purchasing equipment and services, supports issues and problem resolution. 
  • Supports applications and systems by meeting or exceeding standards and service levels while minimizing operational risk
  • Identifies root causes and implements targeted and controlled remediation plans
  • Ensures timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options, and recommendations for prompt resolution. Effectively handles incident management for outages
  • Disaster recovery planning and execution 
  • Hands on support of the user desktop environment including Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Products, Deswick, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Research industry standards, best practices and new innovations in technology and makes recommendations. 
  • Assists with forecasting, budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, invoice approvals and initiating corrective actions 

Job Requirements:

  • Required: College diploma in Business, Information Technology or related
  • Preferred: University degree in Business, Information Technology or related
  • Appropriate technical certifications are a plus (MCSE, PMP, ITIL, COBIT etc.). 
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations. 
  • 5 years of leading and developing a team, including strategy, budgeting and staffing. 
  • 3 years of experience applying and using the principles of ITIL. 
  • Strong analytical skills to recognize and assess issues and develop solutions. 
  • Experienced in leading cloud adoption (at scale), including governance mechanisms, and delivering migration projects. 
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills that inspire and motivate IT resources in a globally matrixed environment. 
  • Strong third-party management skills, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers. 
  • Expertise in budget planning and financial management. 
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory or statutory technology compliance requirements. 
  • Mining Industry experience is a plus (or other asset intensive industries)
  • Previous experience with underground LTE network and automation of mobile equipment and production dashboards would be an asset
  • Experience with bandwidth-limited remote sites.

This is a Full-Time position to commence immediately. A competitive compensation package is available for the successful candidate.
