ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Dispatch Coordinator, the Mine Dispatcher is part of the Mine Department and collaborates with other departments of the division. The incumbent will be responsible for the daily planning and the allocation of the required resources in the pit. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Plan and organize the shifts, taking various factors into account from multiple sources of information, to achieve optimal performance and meet daily objectives, safely and as planned;
  • Responsible for health and safety of your crew (work cards, inspections, safety meetings, etc.);
  • Verify that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations;
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the management team.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High School diploma;
  • Five (5) years of experience in the mining industry with previous dispatching experience required;
  • Strong working knowledge of WENCO mining systems/software and ability to utilize its full potential;
  • High level of computer proficiency;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Strong and disciplined analytic capacity in order to make effective decisions;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to others and communicate effectively;
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and its challenges;
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act;
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
