ABOUT OUR OPERATION:
Agnico Eagle's Hope Bay Operation is located in the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut, approximately 685 km northeast of Yellowknife, 650 Km northwest of Meadowbank Complex and 125 km southwest of Cambridge Bay.
The acquisition of TMAC Resources by Agnico Eagle was officially completed on February 2, 2021. The property and operations are remote but not isolated, serviced by both a port and airstrip. Hope Bay is an 80 km by 20 km Archean greenstone belt that has been explored by BHP, Miramar, Newmont and TMAC over a period spanning more than 30 years. TMAC began producing gold in early 2017 from Doris, its first mine at Hope Bay, and processed gold at the Doris processing plant which originally had nameplate capacity of 1,000 tpd and expanded to 2,000 tpd midway through 2018.

Reporting to the Manager of Mining the Mine Production Superintendent is part of the Mine Operations department to lead and ensure the delivery of the mine plan as closely and safely as possible. The role provides recognition of mine production challenges, identifies risks and implements solutions.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Manager of Mining the Mine Production Superintendent is part of the Mine Operations department to lead and ensure the delivery of the mine plan as closely and safely as possible. The role provides recognition of mine production challenges, identifies risks and implements solutions.
- Provides leadership to the Production Department for provision of all mine production and development;
- Directs the Company employees and Mining Contractors to maximize productivity;
- Develops and optimize mining standards and procedures to maximize safe production;
- Works closely with all site departments to ensure timely resources are planned to support mine production and development, specifically with:
- Technical Services (Engineering, Geology and Survey) - to optimize the mine design, plans to maximize business profit with focus on ounces not tonnes;
- Maintenance Department - to minimize equipment downtime and optimize equipment utilization;
- Warehouse - to ensure accurate tracking of mining consumables;
- Safety Department - to ensure accurate maintenance of training records;
- Develop and implement mining training programs for Northern hires;
- Assist the Manager of Mining in the development and management of budget and cost controls for the Mine Department;
- Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur;
- Inform, involve and engage key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent Agnico Eagle, Hope Bay positively in the community;
- Other such duties as may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline, with 15 years of experience in directing Underground mining operations;
- Must have narrow vein long hole mining experience;
- In-depth knowledge and experience in both conventional and mechanized mining with focus on surgical mining methods for grade control;
- Well versed with long term planning, grade control, mine infrastructure planning, budgeting, cost control, capital planning and purchasing processes;
- Highly effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to problem solve and make decisions;
- Proven leadership and communication skills at a senior supervisory level;
- Ability to direct and work cooperatively with Mining Contractors;
- Advance level knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Arctic experience is an asset;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.

- Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from Edmonton, AB.
