Position Overview

The District Payroll Support Analyst is responsible for having an in-depth understanding of functions and processes. The Analyst will serve as Tier 2 support; handling more complex time and payroll related items that cannot be addressed by Specialists or Leads. The Analyst will help make decisions regarding the escalation of customer requests to KBS functional areas or to Change Control and will work openly with Specialists to ensure full understanding of items that are tier 1 in nature.

District Overview

Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The District Payroll Support specialist is part of the Kiewit Business Services Payroll department.

Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an escalation point for District Support Specialists and Leads for Time and Payroll issues
  • Assist with Pre and post payroll audits
  • Provide excellent customer service and be willing to go above and beyond in support of Kiewit's districts and projects; understand Kiewit's core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business-critical issues
  • Effectively communicate with District Payroll Support's management team to discuss improvement opportunities, define risk, and develop strategy
  • Collaborate with supervisor and other KBS Leaders to identify and resolve issues and concerns
  • Utilize reporting data to ensure master data and procedural items are being handled appropriately
  • Understand documentation; seek improvements in the operations of the team
  • Provide training to internal and/or external personnel as needed
  • Perform all activities of gathering documentation and data related to items that have been escalated to assigned tier
  • Research and resolve PSL, PTO, Craft, Staff, Union, and Non-union issues (Tier 2& 3)
  • Act as backup to the team to fill in gaps in staffing
  • Maintain and update WS rules, PD8, PD7, PSL and other tables in SAP as needed
  • Process PVRP cases and run weekly, monthly, and quarterly PVRP reports
  • Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement


Qualifications

  • College Degree in business or related field preferred
  • Prior payroll and time experience
  • Previous SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with MicroSoft Excel
  • Prior work experience in a shCollege Degree in business or related field preferred

  • Prior work experience in a shared services environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
  • Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done
  • Attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Excellent analytical, math and organization skills
  • Ability to understand and follow process and controls
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work
  • Excellent customer service and collaboration skills; ability to connect and build relationships with others inside and outside the organization
  • Travel as needed ( Travel
  • Lifting, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.
  • Reading from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
  • Must hold valid US Passport (if traveling to Canada, Mexico, etc.)
