Job Description

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Government Relations, this role serves to support the global government relations function across a range of research, analysis, reporting and project management activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Consolidate, monitor, research, analyse and report on key political, public policy, social and regulatory developments in corporate areas of interest globally as directed.
  • Research and prepare stakeholder databases, maps and engagement plans.
  • Research and prepare briefing notes, talking points and other materials as needed for internal reporting or executive engagement with external parties and industry associations.
  • Oversee the management of contracts with external consultants and advisors.
  • Prepare correspondence to various government representatives as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of meetings with government officials.
  • Assist with the identification and preparation of executive conference attendance.
  • Assist with the development of corporate policies, templates, reporting processes, etc. as directed.
  • Provide project management support to the Senior Vice President, Government Relations.


Education and Experience

Education
  • University degree. Master's degree preferred.

Experience
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably at least 2 years international experience.
  • Previous experience in the natural resources sector preferred.
  • French or Spanish language capability preferred.


Skills

  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to synthesise complex information quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with dispersed and multicultural teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and communications skills
  • Computer literate to an intermediate level, PowerPoint savvy.
  • Interest in technical, commercial, legal and fiscal affairs of relevance to the resources sector.
  • Willingness to travel or work flexible hours as needed.
