LOCATION: Columbus Montana (Remote Work Flexibility)

POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will gain broad exposure working on many different tasks and share duties related to the accurate and timely processing of the Company's Payrolls.
Essential Functions:
  • Share in the responsibility for the processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls in accordance with company and legal requirements.
  • Ensure the integrity of payroll and related processes through audits, attention to detail, and following company policies and procedures.
  • Provide careful review to verify the accuracy of time entry; reviewing various reports to assess the use of proper pay types, account numbers, benefits, and wage deductions.
  • Calculate pay according to hours worked, incorporating employee leave of absence and overtime.
  • Process and complete verifications of employment.
  • Process timecards from Mine Monitor into JD Edwards-EnterpriseOne as needed.
  • Coordinate with Human Resource departments at the individual Company locations regarding the compliance of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and adherence to Company policies.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding their pay and questions regarding the CBA and Company policies as they relate to Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.
  • One (1) year Payroll experience or Two (2) years combined Payroll, Administrative Assistant, and/or other similar experience.
  • Three (3) years of practical computer experience proficiency with Windows-based software, particularly Excel.
  • Proven ability to meet expectations for high attention to detail.
  • Dependable and professional in dealing with all employees.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proven ability in meeting consistent and reoccurring tight deadlines.
  • Well organized, able to prioritize tasks, and provide a high level of accuracy.
  • Adept at listening, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience PREFERED:
  • Experience in JD Edwards Enterprise One HR/Payroll modules and Mine Monitor.
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).
  • Experience in Mining.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and documentation requirements.
