Position summary
We have an opportunity for a talented Regional Planning Manager to lead our high performing team based in Victoria. You will work in a team environment to manage the preparation of detailed schedules and planning reports for tenders and project works. You will be a subject matter expert with oversight on Project Based Planners, and work in collaboration with other department heads within our regional organisation.

Position Summary:

The Regional Planning Manager will promote best practice planning to internal and external stakeholders.

You will also:

• Provide governance and direction to the project planners at a Regional business unit level

• Provide Advice, consultation, and technical support to enable successful project/business outcomes and delivery success

• Review subcontractors' construction programmes and other 3rd Party programmes

• Provide guidance to create a realistic project schedule & identify schedule related risks and opportunities

• Review tender programmes with Bid Manager and / or Estimating Manager prior to submission

• After award, convert estimate plans and schedules to approved for Construction

• Engage in procurement of planning staff on an as needs basis for the BU as developed through the regional resource management plan and as consulted with National Manager for Workforce planning purposes

• Time Impacted Analysis of Programmes and provide inputs for time related claims

• Preparation of regional reports for project performance

• Ascertain status of projects in delivery and evaluate delivery programmes

• Ability to work within the company standards and align with the Planning Operating Model and ensure all planning activities comply.

• Work proactively with the client on issues, collaborate on solutions and continuous improvement, provide regular reporting, and meet information sharing requirements

About You:

You will build strong relationships with your stakeholders, show initiative, be self -motivated with a can-do attitude. Other requirements include:

• 15+ years of construction industry experience with minimum 10 years' experience in construction and major infrastructure projects

• High level of proficiency in developing realistic programmes for tenders and delivery with planning software such as Primavera P6

• Commercial comprehension of contract documents, particularly time-related elements, and drawings

• High level of skill and understanding of construction methodologies, safety requirements and resource planning

• Experience in developing Time Chainage Charts

• Experience in Schedule Risk Analysis

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a proven track record in effectively managing internal stakeholder expectations with competing priorities and issues
